A political statement by A. Valkam R.
This post is not about the 2008 U.S. Presidential Campaign, the Democrat Nominations or even Hillary Clinton. It is merely a biased, incomplete, uninformed and informal rant about democratic failure and voter behavior.
Now that the denser, more uptight pricks have been silenced into their disclaimed righteousness, on to the heart of the matter– which is to say, pricks in general.
It has come to my fleeting attention that Mrs. Clinton is ahead in the nomination race– fuck the proper terminology, it is beyond the scope of my interest– gaining strength and popularity after an initial defeat to Bar-Something Something. In itself, her lead is not upsetting; I paid no attention to any candidate’s platforms– mostly because I have too much to do in the day to get enraged about them– what gets under my skin is the media-covered event that turned the tables. To be concise, Clinton shed a tear in the days following her defeat. I can’t tell you the details because I kept myself from looking into it lest I suffer twenty simultaneous aneurysms.
I could be wrong, but this reeks of sympathy, consolation and meekness, among other more carefully worded bullshit. The simple notion of a sympathy vote goes so far and so strongly against the concept of democracy that such actions ought to be reprimanded by fire at the hands of political ideologists. You may be under the impression that the right to vote grants your opinion weight and meaning, much like you could believe the moon landing was a hoax pulled by the Illuminati because that serious guy on TV totally said so. However, if you are able and willing to process the information, consider this: an opinion is no more than the expression of the facts you recognize.
As such, if you are one voter who switched allegiances after Hillary’s tearful breakout, what fact do you recognize first and foremost?
This person wants power badly enough to cry for it.
Now that is an awesome political platform and a steady stepping plate for a bold, new future. Never mind the sickening lack of social conscience, conspicuous absence of judgment and political maturity– here, democracy rewards the go-getters.
It’s unlikely that such voter, or maybe you, realize that by voting, itself a right, you take upon the responsibility of the entire election, and, indeed, the next four years. What? It seems to you like your cast is not that important? That you couldn’t do more?
Well, precisely. It is the most you can do, and as such it should be an act, ideally, committed with the highest conscience and seriousness. You should lose your right to bitch about the candidate you elected and every time you regret your poorly informed choice, you should get bitchslapped by Jay, wearing a plate glove. And Jay has huge, manly arms.
By physically manifesting your feelings about the leadership of your country with a vote, you are making the statement that you believe one or another candidate is the best, and no less than the best suited out of all the possible others to lead your society where you want to see it headed. By voting, you are telling everyone that you think, after careful reasoning, that one person has what it takes to successfully, lucidly and wisely improve the current social situation.
And you vote for the one who wants it most.
You tragic fucks.
Now, I would forgive you if you retire your vote because you like none of the parties, none of the candidates, none of the offers– except that’s way too similar to indie mindsets, and here’s some fascinating news for you all: indie means one of two things; either you’re too awesome for the majority, or you’re too awful for the majority. Guess in which category you fall!
Cynicism only goes so far. It’s as easy, if not easier, to sigh and make a snide comment about the political climate instead of actually paying attention– and of a great length of jaded, caustic commentary, I am heartily guilty, but if you can find it in your shriveled, rotting heart to care about something trivial like, oh, Humanity, then you owe it to your conscience to recognize how badly you’re fucking up.
I’d like to think that isn’t too much to ask, but I’d also like a pony. Call me a dreamer.

Another year of hosting paid for, with some upgrades in place. More space, since I was running dry (it’s a plus to have space to host the pictures on, sorry for the lack of them for a while now), and some more bandwidth to boot.

So I’ll be trying to beef shit up here a lot now, and welcome ideas and requests. Just make some posts on the forum, and tell me what you’d like to see more of. Like, Hentai. I haven’t done that shit for a while. Want more of it? Post about it.

And the mod raffle is still not finished, and I would like to remind everyone about it. So if you’re interested in becoming a moderator on the Jaywalking Forum, read this.

Toodles.

It started off as a very promising premise, but the year ended not with a bang, but more of an anti-climactic and hollow thump. And now, my head feels like there’s a Mexican living in it, and on top of everything he’s starting a fucking marching band.

I’m never gonna drink again.
